Washington DC Project H.O.M.E. Update: East of the River Neighborhood Paper Recognizes Our Efforts!

Hi, it is Sherry Ways in Washington, DC! Just wanted to let everyone know that we just received a little press coverage of our design plan unveiling of the Unity Health Care Clinic Reading Room. The June 2008 edition of East of the River newspaper printed a small blurb including the photo of the design project on page 18. We are thankful for their willingness to recognize our efforts!

Best Wishes! Sherry B. Ways, Project H.O.M.E., Washington, DC

Washington, DC Project H.O.M.E.- Art Consultants Collect School and Art Supplies to Support Unity East of the River Key Reading Corner Project

On Friday evening, June 6, 2008, Washington area women artists donated children's books, school and art supplies to support the Unity Health Care, East of the River, Key Reading Corner Project. At the "H3: The Remix" Art Exhibition Reception in Georgetown, Sharon Burton of Authentic Art Consulting and Michelle Parrish of the Thick Art Collaborative lead the call to invite artists to donate and the artists responded!

The Unity East of The River Health Care clinic seeks donations for reading books and back to school supplies for the children's Key Reading Corner as part of the larger Project H.O.M.E. redesign project. Children visiting the clinic will benefit from the supplies in preparation for back to school. The books will contribute to increasing literacy rates in an economically deprived community.

Special thanks to Authentic Art Consulting and The Thick Art Collaborative in joining the Washington DC Project H.O.M.E. in sponsoring the Key Corner Project!
